Management Board

Piotr Gębala has been the President of the Management Board of the National Capital Fund since December 2005. He has been working in the financial sector for over 16 years, dealing with capital investments on non-public market. He held the position of the Investment Director and Member of the Management Board in Lubelski Fundusz Kapitałowy Spółka z o.o. (Capital Fund of Lublin). Following that, he served as the Investment Director and Member of the Management Board in Fundusz HALS (HALS venture capital fund) – a twinning project of Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej S.A. and the British Know How Fund. As a member of the CRESCENDO Thematic Network EU project, he was engaged in creating an international experience exchange platform for PE/VC experts. Piotr Gębala has extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience in fund management, investment project analysis, due diligence and monitoring the Polish VC/PE market.

Piotr Gębala graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS Lublin).

Hubert Konarski became a Member of the Management Board of the National Capital Fund in September 2011. Previously, he had held the position of the Legal Department Director in the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego in Warsaw – a sole stockholder of the National Capital Fund, the Strategy and Development Director in one of the leading Polish real estate developer and the CEO in international consulting company active in EMEA, USA and Latin America regions.

He is experienced in export finance, international trade, channeling foreign investments, transaction structuring, strategy planning and implementation and project management in various industrial sectors, including shipping, oil and gas, energy, trade, finance, infrastructure, transport networks. He drafted and negotiated many long-term and high-value international contracts.

He is/was a member of the supervisory boards, inter alia, of PWiK Sp. z o.o. in Piaseczno (water supply and sewage treatment), Polish Oil and Gas Company in Warsaw (PGNIG S.A.) and Kopalnia Surowców Mineralnych Kosmin Sp. z o.o. in Wroclaw (extraction of crushed aggregates).

Hubert Konarski holds a LL.M. in Business and Trade Law of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Master of Law of the Law Faculty of the University of Warsaw. He completed postgraduate studies on project management in accordance with the International Project Management Association (IPMA) standards.

He developed professional skills concerning European Union law in King’s College, London and United States law at the Leiden University in Holland, where he took part in an academic programme conducted by the professors of the Columbia University of the City of New York.

He is the author of academic publications on international business and trade law.
